This April, businesses across Oklahoma light up in blue to show solidarity in the fight against child abuse. Blue, the national color for child abuse prevention, illuminates the night as The CARE Center partners with local companies to spread awareness and foster community action.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to protect children across the nation. Here are some key statistics that highlight the urgency of child abuse prevention:
- 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys experience abuse during childhood.
- 1 billion children worldwide face violence annually.
- In 2022, 558,899 U.S. children were confirmed victims of abuse and neglect.
- Over 380,000 child victims received support from Children’s Advocacy Centers in 2023.
Together, we can end child abuse in Oklahoma County.
