National Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to protect children across the nation. The following statistics underscore the urgent need for child abuse prevention:
- 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys experience abuse during childhood.
- 1 billion children worldwide face violence annually.
- In 2022, 558,899 U.S. children were confirmed victims of abuse and neglect.
- Over 380,000 child victims received support from Children’s Advocacy Centers in 2023.
Together, we can end child abuse in Oklahoma County.
