Dear CARE friends,
The health and safety of our children, families and staff is of the utmost importance to us. Based on advice from the National Children’s Alliance as well as federal and state health authorities, The CARE Center is currently open and will continue to monitor the situation if anything changes. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, our staff will be implementing the following procedures:
- Masks: All staff will wear masks while interacting with staff & clients (unless otherwise requested). Staff will also strongly encourage clients & partners to take a complimentary mask to wear while they’re at The CARE Center.
- Sanitation: Staff will wash their hands upon arrival each morning, and clients & partners will be asked to wash their hands when they arrive for their appointment. Our staff will sanitize communal spaces after each advocacy session, forensic interview, and play orientation. Staff will also sanitize their own work spaces at the end of each day & will carry hand sanitizer on them at all times.
- Social Distancing: Our staff will continue to social distance, respecting the 6 feet of space between each person (as recommended by the CDC). Our staff will also be avoiding handshakes, high-fives, and hugs for now.
- Temperature Checks: Staff will be checking their temperatures each morning upon arrival at work. Staff will also be checking the temperatures of clients (via contact-less thermometer) upon arrival. If a staff member or client has a temperature above 100.4, they will be asked to leave.
The CARE Center’s daily services are vital to so many children and families, and we know we have a responsibility to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, we also know that with the temporary closing of schools and youth-serving organizations comes a likely spike in crimes against children- especially in this stressful climate.
How can you help?
Please consider making a gift of significance so that we can continue providing our critical services to Oklahoma County’s smallest citizens during these uncertain times.
With this ever-changing situation, our plans may change too; we will continue to communicate any developing information. If you have questions, feel free to contact me at stacy@carecenter-okc.org.
Please stay safe,
Stacy McNeiland, CEO
