COLLABORATIVE CARE

Board Member Feature: Adam Brooks

Adam Brooks has served on The CARE Center’s Board of Directors for the past four years. He is chair of the Executive Support and Training committee, helping The CARE Center’s CEO be the best she can be.

Adam first learned about The CARE Center and their work when he attended Brave Ball several years ago.

“I was so impressed with the services The CARE Center provides – especially the forensic interviews, which prevent so much trauma for kids who have been abused,” Adam said, “I asked how I could get involved.”

He believes the work The CARE Center does is crucial to supporting children who have dealt with abuse. Adam hopes to one day see child abuse eradicated in Oklahoma County, but until that day comes, The CARE Center fills an important need.

“I wish there was no need for our services,” Adam said. “But child abuse and neglect are real, and we can’t help people if we pretend the problems don’t exist. The CARE Center fills a critical need by providing services to people who have been abused, and by educating the public to help prevent abuse.”

Adam hopes the work at The CARE Center continues to grow and expand in order to help all of those in need of services.

“I hope we can continue to receive expanded funding to provide services to all Oklahoma County families in need, and to expand our education programs, which help raise awareness and stop child abuse,” Adam said.

The CARE Center’s success would not be possible without the help of those serving on the Board of Directors, like Adam. We are so thankful for the support our board offers to us and to children and families across Oklahoma County. Thank you for your continued work!
