data-end=\"171\">10-4 Day<\/strong> \u2014 a dedicated day in Oklahoma to raise awareness of <strong data-start=\"224\" data-end=\"240\">TEN-4-FACESp<\/strong>, a clinical bruising screening rule for infants and young children that helps identify injuries potentially associated with abuse. TEN-4-FACESp stands for bruising to the <strong data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"417\">T<\/strong>orso, <strong data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"428\">E<\/strong>ars, <strong data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"438\">N<\/strong>eck; plus <strong data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"457\">FACES<\/strong> \u2014 Frenulum, Angle of the jaw, Cheeks, Eyelids, Subconjunctivae \u2014 with \u201c4\u201d representing children <strong data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"577\">4 years and younger<\/strong>, and \u201cp\u201d for patterned bruising.<\/p><p data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"1046\">In a major milestone for child protection in our state, the <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"781\">Governor of Oklahoma has officially signed a proclamation designating October 4 as 10-4 Day in Oklahoma<\/strong>. With that signature, 10-4 Day is now <strong data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"853\">formally recognized statewide<\/strong> \u2014 a powerful step in reaffirming our commitment to educating caregivers, health professionals, educators, and community members about red flags of concerning bruising and early intervention.<\/p><p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1071\"><strong data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1069\">Why this matters:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1624\"><li data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1311\"><p data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1311\">Bruising in infants and young children can be an early indicator of abuse \u2014 the TEN-4-FACESp rule is a validated tool used by medical professionals to help distinguish accidental bruising from bruising that warrants further evaluation.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1312\" data-end=\"1463\"><p data-start=\"1314\" data-end=\"1463\">When more adults know what to look for, children are more likely to be protected, evaluated, and connected to help before more serious harm occurs.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1624\"><p data-start=\"1466\" data-end=\"1624\">The statewide proclamation helps elevate visibility, unify messaging, and encourage local communities, agencies, and providers to join in awareness efforts.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1675\"><strong data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1673\">Looking for more resources?
