2024 Annual Report

Dear CARE Center friends and supporters,

As I reflect on 2024, one word comes to mind: impact. This year, The CARE Center recorded the highest number of child abuse forensic interviews since 2019. Though troubling, these numbers also show progress. Why are we seeing higher numbers?

  • Children are more confident in disclosing abuse thanks to our ROAR program.
  • More adults recognize and report abuse, ensuring children receive protection.
  • Our team trains child abuse investigators, encouraging them to refer their investigations to The CARE Center.

Our commitment to prevention education continues to grow. Through our ROAR program, we have now educated more than 108,000 Oklahoma County children in child abuse prevention education.

Expanding Care and Accessibility

  • We welcomed a full-time medical coordinator to enhance medical and mental health services.
  • Our mental health services now include two therapy dogs, providing comfort and support.
  • We now have Spanish-speaking staff across all services—mental health, prevention & outreach, family advocacy, and forensic interviewing—to better serve our community.

A Story of Impact

Beyond statistics, what drives our mission are the lives we touch. One such moment stands out—our mental health coordinator was scheduling a family for services when a mother shared her experience following their forensic interview. She expressed how seen, heard, and empowered her children felt, emphasizing the kindness and care they received. Her words remind us why this work is vital: every child deserves to be believed, supported, and protected.

This year has been one of growth, both in numbers and impact. None of this would be possible without our staff, partners, and supporters who believe in and invest in our mission. Your support fuels our work and allows us to do more.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we remain committed to expanding our reach and ensuring every child finds safety, support, and hope.

Thank you for standing with us in the fight to end child abuse. We need YOU now more than ever.

Together, we are making a difference.

Small, but Mighty: Sharing the Strength of ROAR

“One in seven children are abused in our county. One in seven, it is a really high statistic and something that should really strike fear in our households because this is something that is preventable,” shares Stacy McNeiland, our CEO & Founder of ROAR.
